My teaching studio is a spacious, soundproof and air-conditioned room. It’s fully equipped with a piano for accompanying, a great headphone monitoring system to protect your ears, as well as 48-track digital-recording capabilities. By recording your playing, we can highlight technical issues, capture your progress on CD and get you comfortable with recording sessions.
For technical work, I use HQ Real-Feel Practice pads. Imitation is definitely a useful tool in communicating technique, so my studio is equipped with two of them. For the same reason I have a separate bass drum pedal and kick-pad, so if I need to demonstrate foot-technique you can watch from the drum set.
Finally, the drums are a beautiful sounding Ludwig Club Date set from 1967. I use a lot of cymbals from Zildjian, Bosphorus and Instanbul as well as a limited edition Craviotto, solid-maple snare. It’s an inspiring kit, an inspiring space - perfect to study some of the most inspiring drummers of all time!
